A CHOICE coin and Extremely RARE die pair, likely ONLY the second and finest known. This pairing is not listed in Mildenberg. We found one example in the "Additions to the Corpus of Leo Mildenberg", published in INJ 14. Excellent centering with COMPLETE legends!
It is conjectured that Bar Kokhba abbreviated his name as Sh'ma - "Hear oh Israel" on his early bronze coins to rally the populace to the famous Biblical cry of faith.
