HASMONEAN, ALEXANDER JANNAEUS AE PRUTAH / WIDOWS MITE
Hendin 6186c, Very Fine+, 15mm, 2.29 grams
Obverse: Inscription within wreath, "Yonatan the High Priest and the Council of the Judaeans" in Paleo-Hebrew
Reverse: Double cornucopia adorned with ribbons, pomegranate between horns
Very CLEAR example of the "Stylized" script. Hendin makes mention of this type (pg. 177, GBC 6th ed.). Apparently, he had come across one or few examples and considers whether this type was only coincidentally overstruck on the the 6184 (Greek/Hebrew) type or if was also a deliberate overstrike? (Such as coin type 6185) A coin you certainly don't see often, if ever.
