HASMONEAN, JUDAH (YEHUDA) AE PRUTAH
Hendin 6179, Very Fine (our grade), NGC encapsulated, Approx. 14mm
Obverse: Inscription within wreath, "Yehuda the High Priest and the Council of the Judaeans" in Paleo-Hebrew
Reverse: Double cornucopia adorned with ribbons, pomegranate between horns
Judah is the scarcest of the Hasmonean issues, having ruled only one year. Nice example with a CLEAR, BOLD inscription!
