HEROD THE GREAT, EAGLE LEPTON / WIDOW'S MITE, 40 - 4 B.C.E.
Hendin 6221, TJC 66, Nice Fine, 14mm, .82 gram
Obverse: Cornucopia with inscription to sides, KING HEROD in Greek
Reverse: Eagle standing to right
Nice eagle on this historic type, struck by Herod the Great, to commemorate when his mounting the " graven image ", i.e. the golden eagle in the Temple. Well centered and quite hard to find with the complete border around.
