SHIMON BAR KOKHBA AR ZUZ, "LULAV"
Mildenberg 115, Hendin 1416, Very Fine+, 19.6mm, 2.77 grams, Struck Circa. 134/135 C.E.
Obverse: Shimon within a wreath of thin branches wrapped around nine almonds, medallion at top, tendrils at bottom
Reverse: For the freedom of Israel around palm branch
Uneven toning and some old deposits, but a SOLID coin, well centered and nicely struck! There are a few remnant letters from the Roman denarius on the perimeter of the reverse. Interesting how they fall right into the almonds.
