KROISOS, KINGS OF LYDIA, HALF STATER 561 - 546 B.C.E.
SNG Cop. 456, SNG Kayhan 1024, Good Very Fine, some reverse adhesions and scratches, 15.3mm, 5.41 grams
Obverse: Confronted foreparts of lion and bull
Reverse: Two incuse punches
A very poplular early archaic type of Croessus. A sharp and highly attractive example, with the detail of much more expensive coins. Very reasonable price due to adhesions (used to mount coin?) on reverse (mostly removed) and scratches. The obverse/main part of the coin is really nice!
