A RARE and probably UNIQUE coin that almost appears to be another type. Double struck examples of these Herodian coins are rare and we cannot recall having another example of the four prutah in the past. THIS double strike is quite amazing in that the coin was actually flipped over before the second strike. The second strike was completely centered on one side so that you actually see the helmet in the center of the shield. So now we have a Helmet on Shield type for Herod the Great! Of course it is not a new type, just a fortuitous double strike.
