SHIMON BAR KOCHBA AR ZUZ, GRAPE CLUSTER / LYRE
Mildenberg 201, Hendin 1435, Extremely Fine, 20.39mm, 3.22 grams, Struck Circa. 134/135 C.E.
Obverse: Cluster of grapes, flanked by name SHIMON
Reverse: Lyre surrounded by inscription FOR THE FREEDOM OF JERUSALEM
A lovely example on a LARGE flan with a DEEPLY impressed lyre. This caused the strike to be a bit weaker on the grapes side, but still very sharp there too with virtually no wear! (Coin is of pretty even tone. Dark and light areas exaggerated by photo.)
